AtCheck ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Monique Grocia, based in New York, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using AtCheck at at-check.com, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide. Account authentication is handled by Clerk (clerk.com). We do not store your password.
Review content
When you submit a review, we collect your written review, star rating, and the Instagram handle of the business you are reviewing. You choose whether to post with your name or anonymously.
Proof of purchase
To verify reviews, we collect images or screenshots you upload as proof of your transaction (e.g. receipts, order confirmations, payment screenshots). These are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and are never shown publicly. Only AtCheck moderators can access them for verification purposes.
Business claim information
If you claim a business profile, we collect your Instagram handle and the verification code used to confirm ownership.
Usage data
We collect anonymized usage data through Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. This data does not identify individual users.
2. How we use your information
- To operate and maintain the AtCheck platform
- To verify that reviews reflect genuine purchase experiences
- To send transactional emails (review status updates, business claim updates, owner responses to your reviews)
- To moderate content and enforce our policies
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the site using anonymized analytics
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate AtCheck. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Clerk (clerk.com):account authentication and identity management
- Supabase (supabase.com):database and file storage for proof images
- Resend (resend.com):transactional email delivery
- Vercel (vercel.com):website hosting and anonymized analytics
4. Proof images and sensitive data
Proof of purchase images may contain personal information such as your name, payment amounts, or order details. We treat this data as sensitive:
- Proof images are stored in a private bucket and are never displayed publicly
- Access is restricted to AtCheck moderators for verification purposes only
- Personal details visible in proof images are not published anywhere on the platform
- Proof images are retained for a minimum of 24 months after a review is removed, to support dispute resolution
5. Data retention
We retain your account data and review history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or dispute resolution purposes.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

7. Children
AtCheck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of AtCheck after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
